Happy Birthday, Golden Dawn!!!

I am not sure what will be the biggest challenge - me keeping this up to date or anyone actually reading it..

The significance of the number 120 is for me heralding a new era, a new beginning with a different set of goals and aspirations. The tomb that was allegedly the last resting place of Christian Rosencreuz had the above inscription above the door "Post CXX Annos Patebo" or "after 120 years I will open " and on the 1st of March it was 120 years since the signing of the first charter that formed the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

If you know nothing about the golden dawn and tombs and Mr. Rosenkreuz, then that is just what the internet is for...

Golden Dawn paved the way for an occult revival on the British Isles and, before long, the world. France and Germany had already had similar revivals and the forming of the order was created under the pretense that it was a child order of a German order to lend authenticity to its claims to be an ancient order with unbroken lineage. If this was somewhat exaggerated, then know at least that the teachings that came out of the order were a genius system of educating occult students, forming an intelligent syncretism of belief systems from all major civilizations and cultures as well as formidable magical powers for personal growth unveiled in the inner or second order.

Could it be that the Rosicrucian teachings of the Inner order (Rosicrucianism built on the foundations laid by the mentioned Mr Rosenkreuz) are about to taken on even more poignancy in the years to come? Is there revelation yet to be had in Victorian mysticism and Hebraic and Egyptian tomes? Is the whole magic thing worth all the hard work with memorization, visualization and so on?

If it is not too much of a cliche to say then I'd like to say that our world is full of hate and starved of true love. The hate comes from misunderstandings and fear; the ssort of fear that we all know that deep down we are animals. We have animal reflexes and instincts. We can get over protective of our patch, be it the zealous protection of the fence bordering our neighbour's garden or the sort of controlling love that starves a relationship or the sort of hate that can kill for £5.

We need real love that is neither woolly nor weak but comes from a deep seated understanding of ourselves and the universe we live in along with a shovelful of the humility that comes from every grain of truth you learn you find a whole beach of new beautiful truths.

I will endeavor to keep my resolutions alive and I hope to give some very small tidbits from what life has taught me.
